1. Drive to the intersection of Illawarra Highway & Hume Highway F5 (Moss Vale/Wollongong) exit
2. Take Canyonleigh Road (turning right from Sydney, left from Canberra) & travel for 10kms
3. Turn right onto Tugalong Rd and travel for 16.6kms
4. Turn left onto the private Old Coowong Rd and travel for 2.5kms
5. Turn right onto the unsigned Megalong Ln (just before the Old Coowong Rd cattle grid) and drive a short distance. Our driveway is the first driveway on your right.
The house has a 20m long stonewall along the back of the house —you cannot miss it.
All roads are sealed — if you hit gravel on Tugalong Rd you have gone 20 metres too far.
supplies & pantries
We recommend stocking up on food and beverages before you start heading to bluebird escape. There is a service station/small Coles Express on the Hume Highway (3kms South of Canyonleigh Road turnoff). The closest centre is Moss Vale (10kms East of the Canyonleigh Road turnoff).
We provide teas and coffee beans (for the espresso machine). We also usually have a small selection of pantry items for your convenience which may include oils, spices, pepper, salt & tomato sauce, condiments (eg honey or vegemite), sugar & flour.

In the cooler months, the fire will be set when you arrive —all you need to do is light it.
communications @ bluebird escape
Blessedly, there is no mobile phone coverage at bluebird escape. If you wish, you can divert your mobile to the landline when leaving the freeway. The landline number is 02 4878 9042. You are free to make local and national calls from the landline. There is NBN satellite broadband WIFI network at the property.
Note, for 2hrs from Sydney, bluebird escape is beautifully remote. Home phone, internet, TV & services rely on Telstra/NBN/satellites/utilities/local fauna/weather. Things normally work perfectly (no Channel 7 reception), but with this lot we can't guarantee they are all up all of the time. If you are inconvenienced, please contact us & we will see if we can sort it out.
